C-BASE

****************** I am here since about one year. I come nearly every day. At the moment we work on a WLAN connection to connect Tacheles, Haus des Lehrers, Neues Deutschland Haus and c-base for the summer convention, freifunk.net. (he points at a piece of wood with metal plates and wires:) This is one of the antennas. I have built one too and will attach it to my roof. From there I can transmit my data to Haus des Lehres , that means a free internet connection. [dennis]

****************** The spaceship lies underneath berlin mitte. The top of the spaceship, the alexandertower has build itself up again. Berlin was build upon it. We are now in reconstruction phase number three. C-base has a mission, since a computer shell had been found which said 'future compatible'. Mars, the urbitect of c-base has designed these plans. [uwe and herr schmidt and other talks at c-base]
But if you talk to me, I am on a different track. I am working on a time-machine. At the moment it is stored in an old trabant, it looks kind of like a washing machine. [uwe]

******************* I found an A4 sheet about c-base in '95, saying that it is a synergic platform. Since then I am part of it. here you can realise projects, which are unrealisable within free market based economy. Even if the work is virtual, the meeting point is here. It is still a question whether people move their ass here, and not just move from the sofa to their computers. In c-base everything functions modular. For an evening we might connect six computers to each other. We mostly have old machines, but thatfor we have people that are competent in working with them. [alex]

******************** c-base is basically a foundation of individualists from all directions with incredible ideas. Everything from technology to design and programming and clothing is possible, as long as it is embedded in the context of being space-ship compatible. I became a member when c-base was moving to another location, because I wanted to contribute to the interior design of the new space. I also make clothes here. This skirt (she points at a man), we made, for example. Initially I think c-base was something between art and technology, but lately I see a lot of people from the other sciences coming to c-base, from philosophy, sociology and other human sciences. It might be a very subjective observation, but this is a tendency I feel. [julia]

********************* I spoke to alex, herr schmidt, uwe, dennis, julia and others and would like to thank them very much for their engagament to make c-base possible and their generosity towards a non-member. [inga]
